Jamal stood beside the Lord watching a baseball game—Heaven’s team versus Hell’s. It was the bottom of
the ninth, two outs, score tied.

Love stepped up to the plate and hit a single, because Love never fails.

Faith followed with another hit, because Faith works through Love.

Then came Godly Wisdom, who watched every pitch go by—he never swings at what Satan throws. The bases were loaded.

The Lord smiled. “Now,” He said, “I’m sending in My star player.” Up came Grace.

Satan’s team relaxed—until the pitch came. Grace swung and sent the ball soaring beyond the fence. Game over. Heaven won.

Jamal asked, “Lord, why couldn’t Love, Faith, and Wisdom win the game?”

The Lord replied, “Because if they had, you might think you earned it yourself. Love, Faith, and Wisdom can get you on base— but only My
Grace can get you home.”

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works, so that no one can boast.”
